Beautiful mail from a stranger...I am the recipient of an editioned woodcut printed on a used shopping bag (the block is a donated cutting board) accompanied by a heartfelt letter of authenticity. This amazing project is the work of printmaker & publisher #christophercoltzau in his brilliant @time_cuttingboards project and I love it.
A wee story. In a fitting tribute to my last market until spring, a stallholder's black dog lifted its leg on my pile of gazebo sandbags that were about to be loaded into the kombi. Apparently the dog was busting for a pee (owner). It had been a long market and I shared the same affliction so I... well, umm, I'm ashamed to say I... did nothing #chooseyour ownadventure #takingthepiss#stallholderwoes
Enticing mail from Germany in my letterbox. Thankyou Christopher @time_cuttingboards for this authentic handmade mail which was unexpected and heartwarming. I'll explain in my next post
Autumn has arrived in Gippsland and that means cooler nights and probably some more scrabbling sounds coming from the studio ceiling where rats or mice like to live. Come and visit me and studio companions on the last weekend in March for #openstudioswestgippsland . Hop over to openstudioswestgippsland.com.au for info #autumn#destinationgippsland#visitgippsland
Getting the studio ready for open studios this weekend feels as I'm taking one step forward and two steps back! There are framed prints like this one leaning against walls, unframed work in untidy piles, market merchandise to put away, and I have an illustration project with lightbox and reference material all over the table. If you'd like to come along and visit over the weekend you will be most welcome. Here's the link to download your map.http://openstudioswestgippsland.com.au/
His focus and attention to detail were astonishing. On Friday I was fortunate to have a young assistant taking care to brush away lino crumbs. My very large linocut for my big hairy things workshop is coming along well. Thank you @plant__eater for taking the photo and also Heidi, Jaime and kids #linocut#wip
