A win at Mount Baw Baw

Helen Timbury archibawbaw Presentation

I’m very excited to say I am one of four artists to have won the inaugural ArchiBawBaw Portrait Prize Exhibition at Mount Baw Baw.

My piece was a linocut of Greg Hollis, who has researched the area’s endangered and rare species of flora and fauna for over 30 years.

The Baw Baw Plateau is close to my heart, and I have spent many weekends there bushwalking and skiing, and even track clearing. I never tire of taking taking photos there. It’s a special place.

The other winners were Jessie McLennan, Elisbet Smedbakken and Teresa Schipano,

Speakers at the event included chair of Regional Arts Victoria Bruce Esplin and artist Peter Biram, who both spoke about the importance of art to regional communities.
