Fellow printmakers are invited to a free cyanotype Fellow printmakers are invited to a free cyanotype workshop here in the studio with Kate Gorringe-Smith at 10:30am -12 noon on Monday 28th October. The cyanotypes will be part of a community artwork: a 'Western Port/Warn Marin Wall of Wings & Other Things' incorporating multispecies laser cuts of plants and animals found in the region alongside birds from the Wall of Wings This will be on display at Berninneit, Cowes for the finale of the EcoArts project 'Across the Waters: Weaving together Art, Science, Culture and Community'. Everyone is welcome to attend this event, 1- 3.30pm November 9, which will be a celebration of story, song, poetry, art, dance and conservation with Aunty Sonia Weston, Mal Webb, Kylie Morrigan, Jo Lane, Kate Gorringe-Smith and Carmel Wallace 'Across the Waters' is a program of creative activities designed to strengthen community connections through the facilitation of Eco Arts collaborations, underpinned by the practice of Deep Listening. Its purpose is to inspire environmental stewardship with a focus on the protection of Westernport (Warn Marin), the Ramsar site within it and the Woodlands adjoining it. It was instigated by Dr Laura Brearley and supported by the Phillip Island Conservation Society. Everything is supplied for the workshop but you can bring (if you want to) natural/found materials from the Western Port region (flat items will work best). After the workshop participants are welcome to picnic in the garden with BYO lunch or grab a hot pie from the little shop across the road from my studio. FREE WORKSHOP limited spaces.
