Instagram post 2190274269690627787_2274312433 This is the assortment of plates I take when I’m giving a workshop outside the studio. Each plate shows a different aspect of carving the lino. One shows the design drawn directly on the plate freehand, cat and rabbit plates show the use of simple silhouettes, while many of the plates have been shaped, others show repetitive marks, such as fur. The largest plate has a border. Another plate is unfinished and I use it to demonstrate cutting. This one contains a bit of text mirror image. Some are ezy cut lino (which is actually rubber), and the rest are silkcut or something salvaged from an old noticeboard. The main thing is that they are all small simple designs that can be achieved in a one day workshop.
Instagram post 2189208299903498643_2274312433 ‘Bringing joy every day’. At my open studio recently a dear visitor who purchased my 2019 calendar last year told me how she has enjoyed flipping the page each month to see a new colourful linocut. The calendar hangs on a wall near her kitchen. With 12 original linocut designs for 2020 this A4 spiral bound calendar makes a thoughtful gift. To see all the pages, hop over to my website, link in bio. There is free postage in Australia too, bringing even more joy.
Instagram post 2187660107395279002_2274312433 Maybe it’s black cat Friday. You can find this boxed set of 6 cards in my webshop, free postage within Australia, that’s very Black Friday-ish. However I offer free postage all year round, shhh don’t tell anybody!!
Instagram post 2185957839050453689_2274312433 A small handmade print is a very affordable way to start an art collection. This linocut is called Ironbound Range (a place in Tasmania). It is signed, editioned and framed like many of my small limited edition prints. If you’re thinking of giving original art this Christmas pop in to the studio, check my website or see me at the Warragul Arts Market on December 21. I’m sorry to say I will be away in Tasmania for the week December 13-20.
