Recent art camps and plein air sessions with printmakers Jenny Peterson, Bron Rees( @printfingers) and Kate Gorringe Smith have culminated in a new exhibition called GATHERING TIME AND PLACE at @stockyardgallery
in Foster, Victoria.
To create the works in Gathering Time and Place the artists spent time together on Phillip Island and in Drouin. We painted side by side in the landscape, collected natural materials, and later worked with them in our own studios. Equally important were the conversations we shared — reflecting on nature, its meaning and its importance to people. We exchanged techniques and knowledge built up over many years of practice. Though each artist has their own environmental approach and style these connections have shaped a cohesive exhibition. Gathering Time and place presents visual and reflective responses through works on paper, three-dimensional pieces, and written words.
Our opening event is 5th October at 2pm, which is also @kategorringesmith ‘s free twining workshop which you can take part in if you come a little earlier at 12 noon.
