I’m delighted to share that my print Baw Baw Plateau has been awarded winner at the Winterprint 26 exhibition at Meeniyan Art Gallery.
It is always rewarding to have work recognised by a gallery dedicated to supporting and celebrating contemporary printmaking, and I am grateful to the judge Gillian Kline (pictured above) and the gallery organisers for this acknowledgement. What makes this award particularly rewarding is that the judging was blind and undertaken by a printmaker I admire greatly. I couldn’t be happier.
Baw Baw Plateau is a hand coloured lithograph (stone lithography edition of 9) which depicts one of my favourite places, Phillack Saddle on the Baw Baw Plateau where colonies of alpine wild flowers can be found in summer. The print is pictured below, along with work in progress images and a couple of the reference photos I took one summer.
I congratulate all 27 exhibiting printmakers and thank everyone who continues to support my practice.
The Winterprint 26 exhibition continues until July 26th at Meeniyan Art gallery open daily 10-4, closed Tuesdays.
