My entry for Gippsland Print Award 2023

The Sharing Place is a large monoprint and stamped linoblock populated with indigenous and European plants and animals. The work explores a shared zone where two landscapes meet.

I created the print on site at Jindivick, on the edge of Paul and Anita Day’s property on a warm drizzly day. The Day’s cultivated garden, on farmland abuts a stand of mature Messmate Eucalypts. It is a place where I imagine indigenous species like rosellas and bandicoots cross over into the garden and farmland areas, while introduced species such as cattle and rabbits are very much at home on this fringe area, and pear trees grow mere metres from the wild bush.

You are invited to the exhibition launch at Sale, which will be part of the Gippsland Art Gallery‘s Spring Season Launch on Friday 1 September at 6.00pm but please do RSVP through posevents@wellington.vic.gov.au if you are coming.
