Although I was chuffed when my friend gave me this old frame, it hung around the studio for years before I was able to marry its quiet off-white patina to one of my handmade prints.
My Ibis monoprint with natural watery greens was a good match. This was something more than a colour pairing — I liked the way the work’s subject matter, Wetlands, brought to mind our stewardship of the earth and the linked themes of sustainability, conservation, in particular re-using and recycling.
