Mona the cat linocut has been depicted on one of my greeting cards for many years.

She was part of a small series of linoprints imagining the ghosts of the Johnson Collection. If you’d like to get one for yourself you’ll find her in the cards section of my website, link in bio

The reason I’m giving her an airing is to prepare you for the scaled-up version @stringandsalt for their beautiful Mother’s Day window.

Big thank you to my new friend Elfie who pointed out I had the incorrect date on my first effort and thanks to Gettel at string and salt for the clever prompt.

I’m preparing a series of landscape paintings fo

I’m preparing a series of landscape paintings for framing.

Signing these completed works on paper is so enjoyable. I love hiding my name in the painting making it resemble at first glance, just a few more random brush strokes.

The landscape paintings are the best of my recent foray into plein-air painting — landscapes from around here; Neerim Sth, Drouin West, Noojee.

They are for a group exhibition at @warragul_art_studios which opens Saturday May 18th, 2pm. You are most welcome to attend.

I was working on my printmaking register today, when I looked up from my studio table. This Blackbird was at the birdbath looking like it might have preferred a splash. Anyway it found a few tasty bits. Note to self: fill the birdbath. #drouinstudio

Thanks everyone who visited my studio this weekend. I really loved your company, your comments, and your printmaking questions.

The studio is brimming with a special kind of energy.

I especially loved your participation in chosing a Melways map to be printed on. I hope they dry in a few days.
